The extra day makes all the difference on the road from Fes to Marrakech. After crossing the Middle Atlas and the Ziz valley, you ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes and sleep in a desert camp. Day two takes you through Rissani, the Todra Gorge and Tinghir to the Dades valley. On day three you follow the Valley of Roses and the palm groves of Skoura, visit Ouarzazate and spend the night at Ait Ben Haddou, so you can see the old ksar at sunset and at dawn, before the day-trippers arrive. The last morning is a short, scenic drive over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech.

    Through Ifrane, the Azrou cedar forest, Midelt and the Ziz valley to Merzouga. Camel trek at sunset and night in a desert camp.
