3-Day Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga and Back

Leave Fes in the morning and head south through the changing landscapes of Morocco. Your first stop is Ifrane, often called the "Switzerland of Morocco" thanks to its alpine-style architecture and clean mountain air. Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through cedar forests near Azrou, where you might spot wild monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, the scenery shifts dramatically as you descend into the Ziz Valley, with its wide palm groves and ancient kasbahs. By late afternoon, you'll reach the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga. Switch to camels and ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes just in time to catch the sunset.
