Not every trip to Morocco has to be a road trip. This 5-day itinerary keeps you in the same riad in Marrakech for four nights and takes you out each day with a private driver. Day one is a guided discovery of the medina, its palaces and gardens. Day two is in the High Atlas: a walk through Berber villages around Imlil, at the foot of Mount Toubkal, with lunch in a mountain house. Day three is at the seaside in Essaouira. Day four is for a cooking class in the morning and, in the evening, a sunset camel ride and dinner in the stony desert of Agafay. On day five you have free time in the souks before your flight.

    Day 1: Marrakech medina

    Arrival and check-in at your riad. Guided afternoon in the medina: Koutoubia, Bahia Palace, souks, then Jemaa el-Fna at dusk. Night in Marrakech.

    Day 2: High Atlas and Imlil

    Drive to Imlil and walk with a mountain guide through Berber villages and walnut groves. Lunch in a village house. Back to Marrakech for the night.

    Day 3: Essaouira

    Day trip to the Atlantic: argan cooperative, the port, ramparts and medina of Essaouira. Back to Marrakech for the night.

    Day 4: Cooking class and Agafay desert

    Morning cooking class with a market visit. Late afternoon in the Agafay desert: camel ride at sunset and dinner under the stars. Night in Marrakech.

    Day 5: Free time and departure

    Free morning for the souks, the Majorelle Garden or a hammam. Transfer to Marrakech airport.
