Five days between Marrakech and Fes means you can really enjoy the desert instead of just passing through it. On the first night you sleep at Ait Ben Haddou, seeing the ksar at sunset and sunrise. Day two follows the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through Skoura and the Valley of Roses to the Dades valley. On day three you walk in the Todra Gorge and reach Merzouga for a night in a hotel facing the dunes. Day four is a full day in the Sahara: a 4x4 tour, Gnawa music in Khamlia, a nomad family and a camel trek at sunset to a desert camp. On day five you cross the Middle Atlas to Fes.
