Marrakech is a city of gardens and palaces, and this full-day tour brings together the most beautiful of them with a licensed guide and a private car between stops. You start early at the Majorelle Garden, the cactus and bamboo garden created by the painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent, famous for its intense blue villa. Next comes the Koutoubia Mosque and its gardens, then the Bahia Palace, a 19th-century residence of courtyards, painted cedar ceilings and zellij tiles. After lunch in a riad, you visit the Saadian Tombs, the richly decorated resting place of a 16th-century dynasty rediscovered in 1917, and the ruins of El Badi Palace, where storks nest on the walls. The day ends in the souks and on Jemaa el-Fnaa as the evening begins. Your guide adapts the order to opening hours and crowds so you see each place at its best.     Day 1: Marrakech gardens, palaces and the medina

    Pick-up at your hotel or riad and drive to the Majorelle Garden as it opens. Continue to the Koutoubia gardens, then visit the Bahia Palace with your guide. After lunch in a riad, see the Saadian Tombs and the ruins of El Badi Palace, before ending the day in the souks and on Jemaa el-Fnaa as the square comes alive. Drop-off at your hotel or in the medina.

Are entrance tickets included?

Entrance tickets to the Majorelle Garden, the palaces and the tombs are not included and are bought on site. Majorelle tickets often sell out, so we advise booking them online in advance; your guide can help.

How much walking is there?

Around 5 to 6 kilometres spread over the day, all on flat ground, with the car for the longer distances.
