Zagora is the closest desert to Marrakech, which makes it the best choice when you have only two days and want shorter drives than Merzouga. This private tour crosses the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass, stops at the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou and follows the Draa valley, the longest palm grove in Morocco, to Zagora. A camel takes you to a desert camp for dinner and a night under the stars. On the way back you see Ouarzazate, the film capital of Morocco, before returning to Marrakech. The dunes here are smaller than in Merzouga, but the landscapes on the way are among the finest in the country.
