This 6-day tour from Tangier adds what most short tours lack: a real day in the Sahara. After the blue lanes of Chefchaouen and an evening in Fes, you cross the Middle Atlas to Merzouga and stay two nights. The first is in a hotel facing the dunes; the next day you explore the Erg Chebbi by 4x4, visit Khamlia and its Gnawa musicians and a nomad family, and ride a camel at sunset to a desert camp. Then the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs takes you through the Todra Gorge to the Dades valley, and on the last day past Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou over the High Atlas to Marrakech.
