This 9-day loop from Casablanca combines the two faces of southern Morocco: the Sahara and the Atlantic. You start with Marrakech and the High Atlas, follow the kasbah valleys to Merzouga for a camel trek and a night in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, then return west through Ouarzazate and the Anti-Atlas to Taroudant, the walled 'Little Marrakech'. From there you reach the ocean in Agadir for a beach afternoon, follow the coast past argan forests to Essaouira and its blue boats, and end with a last night on the oyster lagoon of Oualidia before returning to Casablanca. Desert sunsets, ocean sunsets and everything in between.

Pick-up in Casablanca and drive to Marrakech. Evening on Jemaa el-Fna. Night in Marrakech.

Day 2: Over the High Atlas to the Dades
Tizi n'Tichka pass, Ait Ben Haddou and the Valley of Roses to the Dades valley. Night in the Dades valley.

Day 3: Todra Gorge and the Sahara
Todra Gorge walk, then Merzouga. Sunset camel ride and night in a desert camp.

Day 4: Back west to Ouarzazate
Sunrise on the dunes, then the oasis road via Alnif and N'Kob to Ouarzazate. Night in Ouarzazate.

Day 5: Through the Anti-Atlas to Taroudant
Drive via Taliouine, the saffron capital, to Taroudant. Evening walk along the ochre ramparts. Night in Taroudant.

Day 6: Taroudant to Agadir
Morning in the souks of Taroudant, then Agadir. Afternoon on the beach and sunset from the kasbah. Night in Agadir.

Day 7: Coast road to Essaouira
North along the coast via Taghazout and the argan forests to Essaouira. Afternoon in the port and medina. Night in Essaouira.

Day 8: Essaouira to Oualidia
Morning in Essaouira, then the coast road via Safi to the lagoon of Oualidia. Oysters and sunset. Night in Oualidia.

Day 9: Oualidia to Casablanca
Visit El Jadida's Portuguese cistern, then drive to Casablanca. Drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
