If you want to see the whole country in one trip, this 12-day loop from Casablanca is for you. You start in Casablanca, then head north to Tangier on the Strait of Gibraltar and the blue city of Chefchaouen. Fes, with two nights and a guided day, is the cultural heart of the trip. Then the Middle Atlas leads to Merzouga for two nights in the Sahara, including a desert camp. The road west follows the gorges of Todra and Dades and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ait Ben Haddou and over the High Atlas to Marrakech, where you stay two nights. You end on the coast in Essaouira before returning to Casablanca. North, south, mountains, desert and sea.
