Most travellers go straight from Casablanca to Marrakech in three hours. This private 4-day tour takes the long and beautiful way round. On day one you drive along the coast to Rabat, then inland past Meknes to Fes. Day two crosses the Middle Atlas and its cedar forests and follows the Ziz valley to Merzouga, where a camel takes you into the dunes for sunset and a night in a desert camp. Day three follows the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through Tinghir and the Todra Gorge to the Dades valley. On day four you visit Ait Ben Haddou and cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech.

    Day 1: Casablanca to Fes

    Pick-up in Casablanca, stop at the Hassan II Mosque, then Rabat and on to Fes. Night in Fes.

    Day 2: Fes to Merzouga

    Through Ifrane, the Azrou cedar forest, Midelt and the Ziz valley to Merzouga. Camel trek at sunset and night in a desert camp.

    Day 3: Todra Gorge to the Dades valley

    Sunrise over the dunes, then Tinghir and the Todra Gorge to the Dades valley. Night in the Dades valley.

    Day 4: Dades to Marrakech

    Valley of Roses, Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou, then over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech.
